Job Title: Physicist
Job Summary: The Institute of Physics, Polish Academy of Sciences, calls for applications for an open Auxiliary Post position in the SONATA BIS-10 research project funded by the National Science Centre (NCN). A winning candidate will assist the group with the lithography processes (including both optical and electron-beam) and other processing techniques, such as metal deposition processes. The scope of duties will also include assistance in measurements and maintaining the experimental setup.
Job Description: Magnons have recently been considered a new candidate for coherent quantum information processing, where their interactions with various excitations can be achieved via magnetic dipoles. Magnons are collective spin excitations in magnetic materials and operate in the GHz–THz frequency range. Ferromagnetic metals offer very high spin densities, enabling strong magnon-photon coupling and efficient information transfer in compact devices. This project focuses on the fabrication, characterization, and nanoscale integration of magnetic materials for hybrid magnonic devices. The work includes preparation of thin films and nanostructures, operation of micro- and nanofabrication equipment, support of microwave and magnetic measurements, and assistance with data collection and analysis. The technician will contribute to the development and testing of nanoscale magnetic structures designed for the studies. Tasks may include sample preparation, lithography, deposition processes, cleanroom work, operation and maintenance of experimental setups.
