Saicharan Aswartham is a head of the ON6.5 Topological Interfaces Group, and IF PAN Professor at the International Centre for Interfacing Magnetism and Superconductivity with Topological Matter – MagTop. He received his PhD in experimental solid state and materials physics from Technical University of Dresden, Germany in 2012. After his PhD, he moved to USA as a postdoc at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Kentucky, Lexington, USA
His current research interests are focused on experimental condensed matter physics, finding the optimal material systems, where there is a strong interplay of long-range magnetic order, topology and superconductivity. The other interests include the investigation of correlated phenomena on 2D magnets and dimensionality dependent magnetic properties.
He is the author or co-author of over 155 research publications with the h-factor of 30 web of science. Some of the papers were published in prestigious journals such as Nature, Nature Physics, Physical Review Letters, ACS Nano. He has presented several invited talks at international meetings.
He is a referee of international journals such as Phys. Rev. Lett., Phys. Rev. B, Phys. Rev. Materials, 2D materials IOP etc. He is also reviewer for funding agencies such as; Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).
He is the recipient of Young Scientist prize from German Crystal Growth Society (DGKK), Germany 2014.
