Professor IF PAN Vinayak Bhat

Vinayak Bhat is a group leader at the International Centre for Interfacing Magnetism and Superconductivity with Topological Matter – MagTop, funded by a grant from the Foundation for Polish Science since May 2019 and carried out at the Institute of Physics, Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. He got his Ph.D. in 2014 at the University of Kentucky, USA. Subsequently, he did his postdoctoral research at the Technical University of Munich, Germany, and École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland.

His current research deals with exploring fundamental and applied aspects of magnetic nanostructures. Specifically, he investigates magnetization dynamics in periodic and quasicrystal magnetic nanostructures called artificial spin ice and artificial quasicrystals. Subsequently, his research group interfaces these magnetic nanostructures with topological and superconducting thin films to explore possible applications. He is the author or co-author of 26 publications. He has given invited talks at five major international conferences along with several contributed oral presentations. Since 2021, Dr. Bhat is a principal investigator of the National Science Centre (NCN) research grant.
